Working Here
Even if you're half a world a way, you’ll realise the fantastic opportunities offered here. South Canterbury – it’s where life works. Make it work for you too.
Hospitals
Timaru Hospital is a modern, 131-bed facility providing a range of inpatient, outpatient and community secondary services to the people of the South Canterbury region. The hospital provides 24/7 acute medical, surgical and maternity services, Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R) services for older persons and a number of tertiary services through visiting clinicians. We’re small enough to have an informal and friendly working atmosphere, but big enough to provide the opportunity for a broad range of clinical work.
Talbot Park is a 78-bed hospital level long-stay aged residential care facility. Its nearly $1million dementia care unit was opened in 2005, bringing its total of D-6 dementia beds to 29. D-6 is the highest level of dementia care available and Talbot Park is the only facility in South Canterbury to provide this level of care.
